What We Believe
What We Believe
We Believe in…
… the Bible. The verbal inspiration, and reliability of the Holy Scriptures. (1Tim 3:16, 1Pe 1:20)
… the Trinity. There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Mt 28:18-20)
… Jesus. His eternal deity, virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension and imminent return. (Jn 1:1, Isa 7:14, Lk 1:26-38)
… the Holy Spirit. That He dwells in the heart of every believer to impart the character of Christ, and comes upon God’s people in power to equip them for ministry. His gifts are available to every believer today, and are necessary for the church to function as God intended. (Acts 2:38-39. Gal 5:22-23. 1Cor 12:4-11, 1Cor 14)
… Forgiveness of sins, available only through the blood of Jesus. (Mt 26:27-28)
… Salvation, by grace, through faith, apart from any works of our own. (Eph 2:8-9)
… Divine Healing for the whole man, through the stripes of Jesus. (Isa 53:5)
… The Lord’s Supper, a covenant meal celebrating our unity with Jesus and one another. (Lk 22:19-20, 1Cor 10:16-17)
… Water Baptism, a public testimony of our identification with Jesus in His death and resurrection life, (Rom 6:3-4)
… Worship. Our purpose is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. (1Pe 2:9)
… Missions. Our call is to take the good news of LIFE in Jesus to a lost and hurting world. (Mt 28:19-20)
Keys to Knowing God
God wants you to know Him and experience His love:
- God loves you and wants the very best for you.
“I know the plans I have for you… plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jer 29:11
- The only thing that keeps you from experiencing God’s love is your sin. (Sin is “going your own way” and falling short of God’s will for your life.) ‘Your iniquities have separated you from your God. Your sins have hidden His face from you.” – Is 59:2
- The key to knowing God Is to receive Jesus and the forgiveness He offers. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father but through me.” – Jn 14:6 Jesus paid the penalty for your sin when He shed His blood on the cross. He died and rose again so that He could bring you into a relationship with God.
- Receiving Jesus Involves turning from your sin and receiving the forgiveness Jesus provides. When you do that, God sends His Spirit to dwell in your heart and make you a new person. “As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God.” – John 1:12
You receive Jesus through faith. Faith can be expressed in a simple prayer like this:
“Lord Jesus, I need You. I now turn from my sins and receive Your forgiveness. Please send Your Spirit to live within me so I can know You and be all that You want me to be. I thank You now, by faith, that You have forgiven all my sins and brought me into a relationship with You!”
