Section6.0 – Covenant Terms

introduction & articles

introduction

And He answered and said, “Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, ‘for this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh? “So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.” – Matthew 19:4-6

the language of covenant

Do you see covenant everywhere when you read the Bible? You would if you were able to spot its many references. The Bible does not use the word ‘covenant’ every time covenant is spoken of. The Scriptures were not written with an index or a glossary of terms. If a glossary existed for ‘covenant’, it would include terms such as:

• I in you, and you in me.
• United.
• In the same image.
• Exchanged robes.

These above terms along with many others often refer either to a covenant being made or in place. One reason covenant is not explained in the Bible is because in the days when it was written everyone knew the process and the terminology of covenant making. Thus, only a reference was necessary for everyone to understand. Another reason it is not clearly and concisely explained is because it is one of God’s hidden jewels of truth. It has been carefully hidden so those whose hearts belong to Jesus Christ will see it and the rest will not. Only those who have crucified their fleshly nature will see God’s hidden truth in the Bible.

“He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life [the Truth], but the wrath of God abides on him.” (John 3:36)

Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again [one who has repented] he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:3)
19 He [a proud person] shall go to the generation of his fathers; They will never see the light.
20 Man in his pomp, yet without understanding, Is like the beasts that perish. (Psalms 49:19-20)
3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,
4 in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. (2 Corinthians 4:3-4)

It is the task of those who are born again, and who have the Holy Spirit dwelling within, to seek His guidance and revelations of truth. It is true that all who seek will find what they are looking for. When we seek in conjunction with the Holy Spirit He show us all of the hidden nuggets hidden in the text of the Bible.
The purpose of the covenant study found in the remaining articles on this web site is to demonstrate by example that the Bible does indeed contain hidden truth. My hope is that you will believe that if He showed some of this truth to me, he will also show this and many other portions of the truth to you and to all who seek to find it for God is no respecter of persons.

Section 6.0 - Articles

The Bible is the Word of God. In its pages God reveals Himself to mankind. The apostle Paul wrote on two different occasions, that the things that are in the Scriptures are there for our instruction. (Romans 15:4, 1 Corinthians 10:11) Biblical instruction is gained through two pathways.
